summary:

William E. Rees teaches at the School of Community and Regional Planning at the University of British Columbia. He originated the concept of the ecological footprint analysis, discussed in his book, Our Ecological Footprint. He is presently supervising several eco-footprint projects ranging from the sustainability implications of globalization to getting serious about urban sustainability.

Robert Bruegmann is Professor of Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His fields of research and teaching are architectural, urban, landscape, and planning history and historic preservation. His most recent book is Sprawl: A Compact History.
